Hair Transplant in Turkey: A Guide for UK Patients

Information for UK residents

Planning a hair transplant in Bodrum from the UK

Practical information to help you ask the right questions before deciding whether treatment abroad is suitable for you.

Request information

Before you book: confirm the medical provider

Hair transplantation is a surgical procedure. Before agreeing to treatment, ask for the full name and location of the treating medical facility, the name and qualifications of the responsible clinician, the roles of the surgical team and the facility’s current applicable authorisations. These details should be checked independently, and any unanswered questions resolved before making a payment.

You should receive a medical consultation that considers your health history, medicines, hair loss pattern, donor area, potential contraindications and alternatives to surgery. A photo-based conversation cannot replace the relevant medical assessment.

What to ask about FUE, DHI and your results

Different techniques have different practical considerations. Ask why a particular method has been recommended for you, the approximate number of grafts, the limits of donor supply, the proposed hairline, expected density and the chance of needing further treatment. Results vary and no clinic can responsibly guarantee a specific density or permanent appearance.

Read our FUE guide and DHI guide for an introduction to these approaches.

Request a detailed written quotation

Before paying, request a written breakdown identifying the surgical procedure and provider, accommodation, local transfers, medicines, aftercare supplies, any optional PRP treatment, deposit terms, cancellation conditions and possible additional fees. Ask which currency applies and whether the quotation is fixed or subject to a clinical review. Flights, travel insurance and additional treatment should not be assumed to be included.

Travel and recovery planning

Bodrum is served by Milas–Bodrum Airport (BJV). Flight availability varies by season and departure airport. Travel plans should follow confirmation of medical suitability and the proposed treatment dates. Ask the medical team how long you should stay near the treatment facility for early checks and when it is reasonable to fly home.

After surgery, expect instructions on sleeping position, washing, sun exposure, exercise, swimming and medicines. Healing and early shedding vary. You may need several months to see meaningful growth, and final cosmetic assessment may take around a year or longer. The responsible clinician should provide instructions tailored to your procedure.

Risks and care after you return to Britain

Possible complications include bleeding, infection, scarring, uneven growth, graft failure and dissatisfaction with the outcome. Ask in advance how routine follow-up works, whom you can contact about concerns and what arrangements apply if a complication requires assessment or treatment in the UK. Do not assume that follow-up treatment in Britain is included in a Turkish package.

If you experience urgent symptoms after returning home, seek prompt local medical care. Having a remote contact is not a substitute for emergency or in-person treatment where needed.
