Direct Hair Implantation

Direct Hair Implantation

DHI method is the newest method in hair transplant. Extraction is the same with FUE method. They use micro motor for taking grafts, but implanting process is different.

Doctors use an implanter ( choi) pen in implanting process. This is a choi tecnique. Thats why sometimes this method is called choi method.

Why this method is important?

Because doctors can get higher density in this method.
But we should not forget that DHI is for patients with low level hairloss, and patients under 40 years.

Doctors need to decide which patient is better for DHI ,and which patients are better for FUE (for example, 25 years old patient with hairloss only in the right and left corners, DHI can give a more density result . But for a patient with Norwood scale 5-6 hairloss stage, FUE will give a better result.

If we check on Norwood scale DHI is better for 2,3,4 hairloss stage and FUE is better for 5,6,7 hairloss stage.

With DHI ( Direct Hair Implantation ) hair follicles are implanted one by one directly to the thinning area that needs to be covered. Each hair follicle is placed in a specific direction, angle and depth, thanks to the DHI patented tool, the DHI implanter.

Direct hair implantation (DHI) is a modification of the FUE technique created by the company DHI Global Medical Group. In FUE, a surgeon manually cuts channels in your scalp before implanting hair follicles. During DHI, they use a specialized pen-shaped tool that can do both at the same time.

What percentage of Dhi grafts survive?

Cosmedica Clinic in Istanbul has pioneered Sapphire DHI, which offers the highest graft survival rate of any treatment in the world. Hair grafts transplanted using Sapphire DHI have a survival rate of over 99%.

Can hair follicles be implanted?

During a hair transplant, a surgeon removes follicles from a dense area of hair, such as the back of the head, which they will refer to as the donor area. They then implant the follicles into tiny slits on the affected area of the scalp. There are two main types of hair transplant: Follicular unit strip surgery (FUSS)

Is DHI more expensive than FUE?

A patient planning to get a hair transplant will find that the cost of the DHI hair transplant procedure is higher than FUE almost everywhere. The patient should also be aware of the fact that DHI hair transplant costs are even higher in the UK than standard procedures.

Follicular Unit Extraction is the most ideal technique for transplanting straight hair. This method involves the removal of individual hair follicles from the donor area and transplanting them to the balding areas.

How long does DHI take to heal?

It refers to a temporary hair loss at the site of the hair transplant. A full recovery is almost always made in 3 to 4 months.

How many days after hair transplant are grafts secure?

It takes approximately 14 days for newly implanted grafts to become secure after a hair transplant.

Is fue better than DHI?

The DHI method has a faster recovery period and can be performed with less bleeding compared to the FUE method. The FUE method is ideal for covering large areas, whereas the DHI method provides a better possibility for achieving higher density.

What is the difference between DHI and FUE?

The main difference between FUE and DHI method is in the way grafts are implanted into the recipient area. While during FUE the surgeon manually implants the extracted grafts, with DHI a specific implanter tool (also known as Choi Implanter Pen) is used. Moreover, FUE requires canal opening prior to implantation.

What is DHI Hair Transplant Technique?

In DHI, hair follicles are removed from the donor area one after one using a very fine extractor with a diameter of 1mm or less. … The hair are then placed using a single-use implanter directly on the treatment area.
